Biography

Kalyana Sivagnanam is an internationally respected business leader whose career spans more than four decades across the automotive and mobility sectors. Since beginning his professional journey in 1985, he has built substantial experience across sales, marketing, corporate strategy, and regional leadership, working across some of the world's most commercially and culturally complex markets.

He spent 14 years with Ford Motor Company, where he served as Vice President for the Middle East and Africa. During this period, he played a central role in strengthening Ford's position across the region and overseeing a broad and varied operational landscape. He later joined Nissan Motor Corporation, holding a number of senior appointments including Vice President for Africa, the Middle East and India, before becoming Managing Director of Nissan Motor GB.

In 2020, Kalyana was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Petromin Corporation. Under his leadership, the company evolved from a conventional lubricants manufacturer into a broader mobility enterprise with interests spanning vehicle sales, after-sales services, leasing, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and digital platforms. The transformation reflected both his long-term strategic perspective and his ability to recognise shifts in the future direction of mobility and consumer behaviour.

He stepped down from Petromin in early 2026 to devote his attention fully to his work with HCP Group.

What distinguishes Kalyana's career is not simply the breadth of industries in which he has operated, but the range of business environments in which he has succeeded. His experience extends beyond automotive into consumer electronics, media and broadcasting, paints and chemicals, and luggage. He has worked across global multinational corporations, family-owned businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, and small and medium-sized enterprises, giving him a rare breadth of commercial understanding.

Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for building businesses, restructuring underperforming organisations, establishing joint ventures, and guiding companies through periods of transition and growth. He has been particularly drawn to situations requiring decisive leadership, strategic clarity, and the ability to scale businesses sustainably across multiple markets.
